Things that you see when you venture to the other side of your life:
lilac trees with beautiful blossoms whose delicious scent permeates the air around you
awakening grape vines in meticulously kept gardens in people's back yards
the rippling current of the murky river
chalk drawings on sidewalks
the remnants of a playground
your soul.

What a lovely poem! Thank you for sharing those thoughts. In our back yard now, the redbud trees, lilacs and flox (FLOX!) are in bloom, and the azaleas in the front are popping. The pink dogwood is beautiful.
As I drive to work, the vineyards are also budding. In fact, one of the winemakers told me last week he was up all night on "frost watch."
And below our house, the Grand River is swollen with spring rain, mocha brown and bubbly.
Spring comes again.
Oh my poets fill me with a lust for life.
